LD8001H update rate and protocol

Viewed 73

I have purchased a LD8001H, which seems to work well except for its very slow update rate. Changes in the water level take more than five seconds to appear in the 0x01 "empty height" register. I would like the update rate to be faster, ideally multiple times per second, even if that introduces noise or reduces accuracy. Is this possible to do?

In the datasheet, it says "UART output, default baud rate 115200, ASCII/Modbus protocol can be freely switched", but I only received documentation for the Modbus protocol. Maybe the ASCII protocol offers more functionality?

Also, is there anything like the "Radar GUI" that I have seen for other sensors like the LD8001B available for the LD8001H?

Hello dear,
It’s great to hear from you, and thank you so much for your support.
I have checked your requirements with our FAE team. I will update the documentation tomorrow and then share the link with you. Once you receive it, you can download the upper computer tool to adjust the relevant parameters.

Best Regards

Thank you! I can get data at 10Hz now!

Could you tell me what the different columns mean in the six column mode? Here is a sample of the output:

R=002.105 N1=015.580 N2=015.580 R1=002.104 R2=002.104 R=002.000

Also, I have not been able to make the "read set parameters" command work (07 F5 0B 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00)

Hello, glad to hear that.
From the code you list, R is the detected distance, N is the set height.
Any question please leave your message.
