HLK-LD2402 showing wrong range/distance

Viewed 36

Hi everyone,

I am having trouble getting accurate distance/range readings from my HLK-LD2402 sensor. The range values it reports are completely incorrect.

This issue has been happening from the very beginning, even before I changed anything.

Here is what I have tried to fix it:

Used the official tool's automatic threshold generation option to map the room.

Updated the sensor to the latest firmware provided with the tool (thinking a bug fix might help).

Unfortunately, neither step fixed the issue. The real-time distance data still does not match the actual position of the target. It feels like the automatic threshold tool is miscalculating the background noise floor in my environment.

Can anyone share:

How to properly test and verify the raw radar readings manually?

A known working set of manual threshold values for standard indoor testing?

The specific UART commands to pull clean, raw distance data for debugging?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Hello, thakns for your enquiry. checked your issue with our engineer, pls kindly check the updates below:

  1. The main function of LD2402 is to detect human presence and cannot accurately measure distance
  2. Testing of the radar can be done using our upper computer or by reading serial data. The radar can be hung at a height of 1.5 to 2 meters and tested in an open and unobstructed environment.
  3. Pure data reporting can open our engineering mode. pls refer to the attached pic for specific instrutions.LD2402.png
